Deputies recover about $33K in stolen goods after Johnson Point burglaries
Home cameras helped crack the case, and two men were arrested. Warrants led deputies to jewelry, cash and designer bags.

The Thurston County Sheriff's Office says two men were arrested after deputies investigated two burglaries at the same residence near Johnson Point.
The first break-in happened on Aug. 15. Cash, jewelry and designer bags were taken from the home.
After that burglary, the victim installed home security cameras. On Sept. 9, the same home was burglarized again, and this time the cameras were recording. The footage showed a black Mitsubishi, a gold Subaru and a suspect whom deputies identified through prior contacts.
One man was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Deputies also seized a firearm from him because he is a convicted felon. The second man was arrested on burglary, trafficking-stolen-property and narcotics allegations.
Deputies then served warrants on an Olympia residence that the sheriff's office describes as a Department of Corrections group home, along with vehicles and a storage unit. Those searches led to the recovery of about $33,000 in stolen property.
The case shows how much a home camera can help. In this case, the video gave deputies vehicle descriptions and a suspect they could identify, which led to the arrests and the recovered property.
