Thurston County Public Works crews will begin repairing guardrail on Boston Harbor Road NE near 40th Avenue NE on Monday, Oct. 26, and drivers should expect lane closures during the work, the department announced Wednesday, Oct. 21.

The Boston Harbor Road job is one of three guardrail repairs the county listed. The others are on Littlerock Road SW near 101st Lane SW and on Moon Road SW near 170th Avenue SW. The announcement gave a start date but did not say how long the work will last or what hours crews will be on site.

Boston Harbor Road NE is the main route between downtown Olympia and the Boston Harbor and Gull Harbor areas on the east side of Budd Inlet.

Public Works posts road work updates on its X account, @Thurston_PW, and keeps a map of current county road closures and traffic impacts on its Travel Impacts page at thurstoncountywa.gov. The county says drivers should never go around a "road closed" sign; fines are more than $400.
